Diver's Notes

First dive with Sea Pup. Had an insta buddy which was a train wreck. He wasn't surfacing even though he was running low on air. The DM was waving him up, but he kept ignoring her. I opted to get him to surface rather than continue diving. He skipped the safety stop and after waving at him for 30 seconds he descended. Half way through the safety stop, someone ran over my SMB with a boat. Crazy! I did catch one lobster on this dive. I sat my new tickle stick down and swam away from it. The DM saw me and grabbed it for me. Dustin called the site the Outfall Trenches. On ascent, my dive buddy wasn't keeping up with the DM and we lost her to the current. I went to shoot my SMB and hooked the line to the wrong hook. I used to have a brass hook on the line and a stainless steel hook on the reel, and now both are stainless steel. I started swimming down and quickly switched hooks and successfully launched it. I had to pay close attention to this on my next dive, I almost hooked the wrong one again. It's amazing how changing one small thing can throw you off.
