2019-11-24 - Melissa's Reef, Roatan, Honduras

25.3m - 52 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

Saw a couple turtles - one with two large remoras on the bottom. Saw some groupers and an indigo hamlet. We also saw a large pelagic fish (?) - looked like a tuna but we're not sure. The reef structure was nice but there was quite a lot of bleached coral.

2019-11-24 - Pillar Coral, Roatan, Honduras

19.6m - 58 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

Saw a lobster, three neck crabs, a large channel crab, a midnight parrotfish, groupers, some gray angelfish, a moray eel, and a large and small jellyfish. The reef looked like it could be very beautiful but a lot of the coral was bleached.

2019-11-24 - Over Heat Reef, Roatan, Honduras

15.4m - 55 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

Although still at bit bleached, this reef looked a lot better than the previous two. We saw a turtle, a lobster, indigo hamlets, black durgeons, two queen angles, and a group of several squids. I also saw a very large ocean trigger fish.

2019-11-25 - El Aguila Wreck, Roatan, Honduras

32.1m - 41 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

This is one of Roatan's wreck dives. When I did this dive six years ago, I thought it was very impressive. This time, I didn't find the wreck so exciting. We did see a lot of large groupers and snappers. There were also several jellyfish. I saw a banded coral shrimp floating in the water and a jack came to check it out and see if it was food. There was a magazine photographer on this dive. I might have had my picture in a magazine but I didn't do a good job during the photo session. I probably won't be in it

2019-11-25 - Barry's Reef, Roatan, Honduras

15.7m - 55 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

We did this as a drift dive. Again, as with most sites so far, this looked like it was a beautiful reef with an interesting structure, but much of the coral was bleached and there was not that many fish. We saw a flamingo tongue. We tried to repeat the photo-shoot from the last dive and it went better this time so Justin and I may be in a dive magazine.

2019-11-25 - Four Sponges, Roatan, Honduras

21.6m - 58 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

There was still a decent amount of bleached coral, but, that aside, this was a fun dive. We saw a turtle, a spotted eagle ray, a couple moray eels, a juvenile drum, a few lettuce sea slugs, jawfish, a lobster, groupers, and cleaning shrimp. There was a fun swim-through and we had time at the end to search the rocks and rubble for the fun small stuff.

2019-11-26 - Odyssey Wreck, Roatan, Honduras

30.2m - 35 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

This was a fun wreck dive with some swim through areas. There was covered area of the wreck where probably at least a dozen fairy basslets were hanging out. I somehow lost the on/off knob on my air tank during the dive and had to purge all the remaining air through my regulator. Saw a white spotted file at the bottom of the wreck.

2019-11-26 - Butcher's Bank, Roatan, Honduras

19.1m - 63 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

I really enjoyed this dive. The coral was less bleached than a lot of other spots and we saw a lot of cool things. We saw a turtle, a drumfish, several indigo hamlets, and a queen angel that let me get close enough for some good pictures. We also saw a scrawled cowfish.

2019-11-26 - Herbie's Fantasy, Roatan, Honduras

18m - 59 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

Over the course of this drift dive we came across sections of coral followed by sandy bottoms so it was a good mix of structure. I was a bit preoccupied on this dive because I noticed a bit of water in my camera housing. At the end of the dive our boat wasn't there so we were all floating for awhile - people made jokes about the "Open Water" movie.

2019-11-26 - Deep Eel Garden, Roatan, Honduras

21.3m - 47 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

A great night dive! We saw a big octopus who put on a show for us - crawling across the reef and changing colors. We also saw lobsters, sea urchins, brittle stars, basket stars, hermit crabs, blue tangs with night stripes, small cardinal fish, and some very small crabs on a sea fan.

2019-11-27 - Stovail's Serenity, Roatan, Honduras

25.6m - 53 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

This was a nice drift dive which ended at a wall. We saw the basket starfish that saw last night curled up on the soft coral. At the end of the dive, I saw a sting ray on top of the wall. We also saw a turtle.

2019-11-27 - Wayne's Place, Roatan, Honduras

17m - 59 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

This was one of my favorite dives of the trips so far. The reef structure was really interesting with caves, holes, and openings to drop down into. We saw a green moray swimming, a grouper being cleaned, some interesting soft coral in a cave, and a very small crab hiding in some rocks. We watched some jawfish for awhile at the end of the dive.

2019-11-28 - Divemasters Choice , Roatan, Honduras

20.6m - 49 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

We saw some black coral towards the beginning of the dive. There were some jaw fish, a trunkfish, neck crabs, and a big green moray eel. I tried hard to get a picture of a fairy basslet and a sharp nosed puffer, but I have been having trouble getting my camera to focus on them.

2019-11-28 - Fish Den, Roatan, Honduras

15.4m - 54 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

We saw a channel crab, a cowfish, peppermint (?) shrimp. There was a big school of chubs towards the end of the dive. There were several groupers there as well. Justin took a nap during this dive so I paired up with some people from the boat.

2019-11-28 - Green Outhouse Wall, Roatan, Honduras

17.8m - 60 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

We saw a lot of cool things on this dive. I saw a pudding wife to start. Then we saw a turtle scratching a remora off. The remora was then swimming around confused for the rest of the dive. We saw a yellow coney, a channel crab, a toad fish, a tiny file fish, and a huge grouper getting cleaned. We also saw two hermit crabs fighting with each other.

14.3m - 44 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

This was a great night dive! We saw two octopuses, two channel crabs - on on the reef, one on a sea fan - many lobsters crawling on the reef, a drumfish, and a big grouper.

2019-11-29 - Canyon Reef, Roatan West End, Honduras

24.4m - 52 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

This would have been a great dive if we weren't doing a drift dive and/or the winds were calmer - there were lots of canyons we could have swam through. We saw banded coral shrimp, a channel crab, a flamingo tongue, and an anemone.

2019-11-29 - Front Porch, Roatan, Honduras

10.7m - 65 min - Dived with Anthony's Key Resort

We spent this dive helping to clean up the coral nursery. We scrubbed the algae of the piping and strings of the coral farm. It was a great way to finish diving this trip!
