    Tori's Reef

This was a very pretty dive. There was a large patch of staghorn coral near the top of the reef. We saw a couple groupers and big barracuda. At the very end of the dive a saw a tiny juvenile French angle, a baby blue spot damsel and a scrawled file fish. There were a lot of elephant ear sponges at this site.

    Three Room Cave

Another great dive! This one was through a cave system. We saw a lot of lobsters and shrimp and a couple of coweries both in and out of their shells. There were a lot of this in the cave and a trumpetfish blocking the exit of the cave right in front of my face. My light stopped working towards the end of the cave so I had to use my camera for light. I couldn't equalize once I got out of the cave so I ended the dive early. Still a great last dive!

    Yellow Submarine

This was the checkout dive for this trip. I used this dive to try out my new camera setup. The strobe wasn't so useful - I'll probably only use it for certain dives. I also felt over-weighted - I'll use less weight on the next dive.

    Mala Wharf Boat Ramp, Lahaina

This dive was a learning experience for us. Everything we read about this site says how easy it is so we went in without much of a dive plan. It turned out the visibility was maybe 6ft and strong waves/current. We kept trying to swim past it hoping the visibility would clear up, but it never did. We called the dive without getting to see anything and used up half a tank of air on a long, difficult swim. We will make sure to have a plan next time no matter how easy the site.
