2014-11-29 - The Steps, Kurnell, Australia

14m - 50 min

Dove with Greg and Maddy at the steps in Kurnell. Beautiful dive. We saw 3 weedy sea dragons, and a giant ray with a little school of fish hitching a ride in front. The coral was amazing, and I saw something that looked like a nudibranch with lots of legs -- like the oceans version of a centipede. Afterwards we went with Greg to check out bikes in olympic park.

2016-01-16 - The Steps, Kurnell, NSW, Australia

15.5m - 59 min

First dive in over a year with Greg. Bare island didn't have great conditions so we went to Kurnell instead and dived in a loop around the smaller reefs and sandy areas. Saw 5 species of nudibranch: http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/hypsbenn http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/glosatro http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/aphevari http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/pteriant http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/chrosple Also saw 2 cuttle fish, an eel and schools of yellowtail. It was a nice dive to get back into the water, I remembered my technique without any trouble.

A lovely dive in Kurnell with Greg. The highlight was that we saw a weedy sea dragon, and a beautiful black, blue and purple/red nudibranch (Nembrotha purpureolineata http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/nembpurp).

2016-05-29 - The Steps, Kurnell, NSW, Australia

15m - 55 min

Went back to Kurnell with Greg, Pieter and a student from USYD, Nina, who studies biology. It was a nice dive, but fairly cold and not much worthy of mention. We saw the same weedy sea dragon and nudibranch as the previous dive.

2016-06-26 - Monument, Kurnell, Australia

13m - 68 min

Despite the bad weather in recent times, Greg and I headed out for a dive. Bare island was looking rough, so we went to Kurnell instead. We walked from the park almost all the way to The Steps and then got in the water, heading towards the leap until 150 bar and then turning around and heading back. It was a great dive, poor visibility, but my new gobe 850 lights made it much easier to see, and we didn't lose sight of each other. I used my new macro lens and red filter, the red filter was a bit useless because of the vis, but the vis didn't affect the macro shots. I'm very pleased with how it all turned out, the new rig is excellent. Lights are super bright and burn for a decent length of time, and the macro lens can do some excellent shots.
