2013-06-08 - Cola De Gato, Veracruz, Mexico

5.5m - 51 min - Dived with Reyna Perez from Dorado Buceo

First dive in Veracruz, also first dive in open water in preparation for the rescue diver certification. Spend most of the time supporting the DM to certificate a group of OW. Got the chance to take a little dive around the reef. Current was a bit strong and sea in the surface choppy. Due to the large group in certification process the visibility was just ok due to all the silt. Completed an injured diver on the surface simulation. Completed tired diver and back tow exercises.

Second diving day to obtain rescue diver certification. Dive with a large group, helped the DM to check equipment of other divers. Large group went down but I as in charge of two novice divers as part of my certification process. They did generally well. The visibility was ok and the current strong. At the end of the dive, I completed the unconscious diver evacuation from below, did generally ok but I had to fix some errors in the rescue breath procedure. Evacuated the diver, provided PR. O2 and shock treatment. Did OK. got my certification!
