Diver's Notes

This was the last dive of the trip, and a great conclusion!
The dive was quite easy, though it could have been tricky. We were in the middle of current city.
The site is basically a submerged rock in the middle of the current. We entered at the time it slowed down, and was about to reverse, so minimum current. Basically keep an eye out for what the fish are doing. They will show where the current is coming from (they prefer to be on the high side of a reef, facing the current.)

The site is awesome. Soo many fish! It's like an aquarium, but better, much better! Fish everywhere you looked, all around you, basically obscuring your vision!
I spotted a white tip sleeping on the bottom after Akim signaled something behind a rock. I approached it very slowly. The closer I got the slower I was and the slower I breathed. I took a shot which might have woken it up as it seemed to look up and I could shot of two more frames before it swam away.
There was a massive school of barracuda patrolling.
There was too much to see and photograph so I tried filming a bit.

After the dive we went to see the Komodo nature reserve where they have the dragons roaming around. The walk was a bit disappointing actually. Although the dragons walk around freely, and we did see quite a few lounging around the kitchen, we spotted only one more female guarding her eggs, and a few monkeys in the field. Not exciting, especially compared to seeing them at the beach at cannibal rock.

In the evening the crew made us an amazing barbeque on the beach. We were assured they would only do that if they got along well with the group. I'm glad they felt we considered them part of the group, because they put a lot of effort in the barbeque. They brought down sofas from the boat. They played music and we all danced, sang, drank and ate.
Absolutely an amazing day to conclude an amazing trip!
