Second time at Crystal Rock. This was quite an exhilarating dive!
It started with a perfect drop behind the rock outcrops, but straight into the current. Was a bit slow to ascent but managed to stick close to the dive guide. Luca was way faster getting down.
The descent was touch and steep, going straight down to 20 meters.
The current was. Focusing on my buoyancy, steady kicking (not to exert myself) and controlled breathing made this a good dive and prevented me from being blown through the air... well.. water...
We hooked into the reef twice, on different spots. The first hook in was so-so. Not a good spot. Some coral but not great. a white tip headed straight for me, then veered off into the blue.
We drifted further back across the reef. The second hook in point was better, but turbulent. The current kept switching direction, which was somewhat annoying.
The hook in vantage point was not great but the reef was awesome. There were so many fish there! Gorgeous coral and a couple of white tips circled around. Such an abundance of life!
A turtle came down the current straight at me, at mere centimeters of my face! Got a few shots as it cruised by, seemingly uninterested in my presence, almost to the point of being arrogant, haha!
We subsequently swam off to the east, towards the main outcrop. A bit of a tough swim, and blew through some air on that stage.
Took quite a few pics of the rocks which at that end were surprisingly barren and void of coral.
I took a selfie, and when Luca joined us, we took another selfie together, MAster and Padawan, hahaha...
