Diver's Notes

The Ancient Mariner was formerly the USCG Nemesis. It was turned into a restaurant and then later sunk as part of the artificial wreck/reef system. It's a nice shallow wreck with many opportunities for penetration. The steps are covered with softball-sized clams and the ceiling of the lower deck was covered with a yell-green flowery soft coral. Once the silt was stirred up, I explored the outside hull. The high side was like diving a wall. There was an easy current that carried me from front to back. Lots of fish inhabited the inside, but few were out. One room near the stern was dark. Next time I'd like to explore that one. This was Justin's first dive in salt, first dive out of training. He loved it!
