Diver's Notes

Jim and I dropped in on the Mizpah after the rest of the group left. And if I didn't have trouble with my right ear, we would have dropped straight into the hatch. The current was strong and I had more gear clipped to my BC and hanging off my wrists than I could keep track of. The wreck reel was a lot harder than it looks. We came across half a dozen goliaths and they each swam single file into the hatch to the deck below us. It looked like the bell rang to start class. Jim snapped a bunch of pictures of me trying to use the wreck reel. It must have been fun to watch me struggle. Instead of battling the current, we skipped the rockpile and headed straight for the Amaryllis. We saw another goliath dart into a crevice in the wreck and he was gone. It's amazing how something that big can hide so fast. I'm now a wreck diver!
