Hugo was with us today as we went to the Train Wreck and Black Pearl Cave dive sites. This was the first time the train wreck had been dived this season, due to its remoteness, capricious currents, visibility, and general lack of interest from the mostly Open Water divers on the Island. But this was a real experience and something we didn't want to miss.
Saw Bent Stick Pipefish, Banded Scorpionfish, Giant Puffer, Spotted Boxfish, and three types of Lionfish - Clear Fin, Pacific, and Spotfin.
The visibility was pretty good for the first 10m but then it got real green real quick, and the silty bottom mixed with the slight current to make visibility a bit of a challenge. It was a bit surreal diving amongst sunken rail carriages, but so much sea life down there it was pretty cool.
