Diver's Notes

First ever dive at VooDoo - it won't be my last! Great dive site... Anthony lead the dive having dived here a number of times before. We headed east down an number of steps to around 14mtrs and followed a wall in a Southerly direction to around 17mtrs. The wall was full of caves and critters no sign of the Port Jackson sharks that are starting to arrive back to breed. Apparently these caves although most too tight for us to enter are full of PJ's during breeding time.

We turned at around 120BAR of air and headed up to a shallower wall at around 13mtrs with lots of smaller rocky rubble a few giant cuttlefish and plenty of fish. We entered the Arch - a beautifull rock arch reaching up 10+mtrs to the reef above - you could hear the surf breaking and when the larger sets rolled through you needed to make sure you were negatively buoyant so that it didn't pick you up for a fast ride to the surface. The masses of fish in this arch was amazing... thousands and thousands of them. Mainly Sea Pike and Damsel fish, but also large clusters of Old Wives and Bulls eyes.

The dive site has lovely encrusting corals in bright orange, Fluro green and the like. The range of colours in the encrusting sponges is also impressive with Blue, Yellow, Orange, Green, White all very vibrant and healthy.
