1998-04-12 - Three Sisters, Ponta do Ouro, Mozambique

24m - 42 min

Boat: Yellow Super Duck Skipper: Shane Site: Three Sisters In - 8:00 Out - 8:42 Average depth - 20 m Visibility - 20 m ->, 24 m | Buddied with another stranger - girl called Liezel. Woke up feeling nauseous. My legs felt like I had rub=n a marathon. Made a last minute decision to dive on the grounds of "the dive you miss out on is the one with all the fun" - Denton King: SSI. Liezel was the DM. She has a reputation for finding the Whale Sharks. Good dive. Deep. Loads of fish and eels. Knelt on the sand and stayed still for a while. I was swarmed by fish. Saw schools of small silver fish being hunted by larger fish that looked like Bass juveniles. After dive I felt really aweful and decided to have a sleep and laugh off the second dive of the day. Probably just as well as my dive time was off the tables and had to decompress.

1998-04-13 - Anchor Reef, Ponta Malongane, Mozambique

21m - 45 min

Boat: Hot Stuff Skipper: Riaan Site: Anchor Reef In - 6:20 Out - 7:05 Average depth - 18 m Visibility - 20 m ->, 21 m | Probably the nicest dive of the weekend. Stefan DM'd. Only about 6 people on the boat. Drifted down the reef and saw the anchor. Lots of juvenile fish, more than at any of the other reefs. Honeycomb Morey Eel. Saw Bass sucking in sand and spiting it out again. Must ask Penny about this behaviour. Saw Octopus in a hollow. Jeanette landed on 50 bar early so I gave her my octo (as we briefed). Had to go up soon anyway as times/tables, were beginning to conflict. Definitely must dive this reef again. Jeanette seemed to really enjoy this dive.
