Diver's Notes

Planned to dive shallower and to get way passed the wreck. Then turn around at 100 bar and drift back. Standard approach to dive buoy and shot line. Noticed that the buoy was driving the opposite way to last three dives indicating that the surface current at least was down south to north for a change. Noticed early on that the current was quite strong. Reached the wreck in 8 minutes which was about half the time of the previous dives. Crossed the wreck at about half of the height. Just after wreck saw a moray eel stopped to take photos. Crossed an open sandy area and a large black tip reef shark swam across us from the deep up to the reef. Was incredibly beautiful and graceful to watch. At 150 bar o decided to get us to turn back as the current was stronger than anticipated. Hard swim back to the buoy. Very tiring. But we saw another shark. This time from the reef down the wall.

Saw a stone fish and was going to take a photo when the camera went flat. Saw a pretty large octopus in a hole. It was watching me and would not come out. Headed to the shot line to do safety stop and a titan triggerfish seemed interested in Jeanette again. Maybe it’s her pheromones. After safety stop went to surface and headed back to the jetty. About 10 metres from the jetty another black tip went passed us. It was quite large and because the water was shallow, the water was clear. It was quite a sight to see. Great dive.
