Diver's Notes

Loads of seaplanes at the jetty. About four in the time that we were kitting you. Needed to time the entry so as not to get run over. Standard entry into water. Descend at shot line and head to drop off and then head north against current.

Saw two pairs of huge triggerfish (titan). One of them nipped Jeanette on her knee. They are possibly nesting and we got too close. Giant eel at ship. Played hide and seek. Just couldn’t get decent photos. Headband Butterflyfish, Shortnosed Unicornfish, Picasso Triggerfish, Humbugs, Goldies, Starfish, Granulated Se star, Blue Green DAmselfish, Cleaner Wrasse, Black Jacks, Moorish Idols, Trevelly, Spiny Lobster, Garden Eels, Clown Triggerfish, Yellow Snapper, Fire Goby, Blue Yellow Dmsel, Blackmouth Sea Cucumber. Orental Sweetlips. Rock Cod.

On way out we were struggling against the current when a seaplane landed. Had to hold the camera up and signal to the pilot. He slowed down his taxi and let us slip back to the safe water. Once he passed we managed oto swim back. The surface swim to the buoy and back is tiring. I think there is a rip current along the jetty which doesn’t help.
