Diver's Notes

Advanced training Dive 1 : Environment
Skipper: Walter
Surface conditions were excellent, warm clear day. However, the feedback was that the underwater conditions were not in our favour. The current and surge at Pinnacles was particularly strong. The water was full of plankton reducing visibility between 6 and 12m. There were dive buoys everywhere. The DM lost the entire group, Donovan rounded us up and we ascended approx. a meter when we spotted the DM who then came over to join us. At this point I was low on air so Donovan, Andre, Delveen and myself ascended and hot-tubbed on the surface waiting for the boat. We aborted the safety stop due tot he current and surge.
Saw approx. 7 Raggies, Bluestreak Cleaner wrasse, Moorish idol, tube like sponges.
