Diver's Notes

This dive was on the Thunderbolt. I went out with Captain Hooks (nice crew) with Diane. This was during her marketing trip.

We brought our nitrox tanks since the boat supplied free air tanks but charged $15 for nitrox AL's. Everyone else on the boat dove with air (including the guide).

The boat attached to the stern mooring buoy. We dove down and after poking around the exposed engine room (only the reduction gears are left), we started ascending the superstructure through the stairs. Since all the levels were open, we were able to explore each level and still count them as swim throughs. There wasn't really much in the way of sea life inside the super structure even though some had said there would be some goliaths.

After exploring the superstructure, we explored the bow where the cable spool was. There were some curious groupers hanging around. At this time we noticed we were the only divers left on the wreck. It made sense since we only had 7 minutes of NDC left on 30% nitrox and everyone else was on air.

At this point we took our time swimming back to the anchor line and performed an uneventful deep stop, slow ascent, and safety stop.
