Diver's Notes

First dive on Boxing day and we are within the GBR. The reef doesn't have a name as yet with naming rights up for grabs.
I put forward "Pirate Petes Paradise" as the name and it got picked !! I won a very small bottle of Johnny Walker Red
Trepidation before the dive, my ears are not feeling right, slight pressure in the right and also above the right eye. After a shower i sprayed the swimmers ear stuff in my ears.
Had David lead the dive. On entry we kicked against the current down to 20m, then headed along the edge of the reef until we hit 100 bar, then turned and let the current carry us back.
When i hit 70bar I told David, and he then asked where the boat was. I had no idea, so asked Pablo who pointed us in the right direction.
Made it back on the boat with 50 bar and a new blister on my middle toe on my left foot.
The coral was beautiful and I regret not taking my red filter for the camera, will do on the next dive.
