Diver's Notes

Small group dive at Makapu'u Beach. The surf was a little rough, definitely not the 2-3 that was reported. We entered in at the beach and did an underwater swim acorss the sandy bottom over to the cliffs on the right side of the beach.

Rock formations along the cliff were really interesting but visibility was poor. Would lose sight of others past 10 feet. Would be a great dive on days with good visibility.

Da Groopah said the Moloka'i Express was running very strong after the point. Did not venture anywhere near there.

Reentry on the beach was pretty difficult. Almost everyone lost an item on the way back in but later recovered it.

Overall, good dive, wish there was better visibility.
