Diver's Notes

First dive for the deep specialty. Austin from Hawaiian Diving Adventures was the instructor.

Pretty straight forward dive. We descended and I noticed a problem with the pony bottle. The O-ring had failed for the high pressure port on the first stage regulator so the gas was shut off.

Once we hit the bottom, I was given a slate and had to point out the numbers in order from 1-20. It took 44 seconds to complete (versus the 15 seconds on the surface!) We also observed the effects of pressure on a water bottle both when we descended and ascended.

We took advantage of the light currents and swam for the airplane not too far away. We overshot it just a little bit and made it to the pyramids. Once we got back to the YO-257, we had enough time to make a quick lap around the wreck.
