I am a business owner in Orlando, FL originally from the DC area. I enjoy traveling and learning new things. I had never considered scuba diving until 2012 when we went on a sailing trip of the British Virgin Islands with a group of friends. Now I love to dive and am always looking forward to the next adventure.

United Caribbean WreckWe were out on the dive site in about 30 minutes and splashed in at around 9 AM. It was 80’ anchor dive so two of the dive leads jumped in the water and attached a line from the wreck up to the dive boat. When we entered the water we had to work our way down at the anchor line to the wreck itself. Mark was, also, experiencing a head cold so we took it slow moving down the Anchor line to allow ourselves to equalize. It's always fun slowly to descend onto a wreck site as the outline of the wreck itself eventually distinguishes itself against the background of sand. The bottom was about 70 feet. The wreck of the “United Caribbean” was in pieces about 30 yards away from each other. At 70 feet our dive time would be around 40 minutes. To my great thrill we were able to penetrate the wreck though not to a great extent. There was one room on the wreck that actually was very cool to get into and had great accessibility. You had the shimmy through a small door which brought you into a well lit room full of rusted and deteriorate equipment. I had brought a dive light which I was able to use. I feel very confident in doing wreck penetration now. The wreck was quite solid in the areas that we did penetrate and that we did a few swim through this on the aft section of the ship also. We started working our way up the line as my tank was running at about 700 psi at that point. We made our way up the Anchor line stopping at 15 feet for three minutes for our safety stop.

Wrench RockWrench Rock Dive #2 - The second dive was also at Wrench Rock. This time I started feeling chilly at 25 minutes and was happy that Mark decided to ascend after 30 minutes. I started at 3,100psi and finished at 1,200psi. Visibility was a bit more limited this time for some reason at 35 feet. There was a gentle current which wasn’t a problem until I got in the middle of two boulders when I was thrown around a bit. The gopro died while I was on this dive as the battery ran out. I was surprised that the battery life was only about 30 minutes as I’ve never had problems with the go pro in the past. I am guessing that the cold is inhibiting its effectiveness.

Wild West WallUnguided dive. Poor visibility. We didn't know the area and guessed where to anchor the dinghy. We went alone and this was our first dinghy entry and exit. Went due west to find the wall but didn't descend as it was dark and getting late. Was able to find the wall and found our way back to the dinghy perfectly.
