Diver's Notes

SECOND DIVE
The Second dive briefing was at 830a for our 9am dive at the Coral Garden Site at Saxon Reef. The current was slight with 80+ visibility. I ended the water at 850a, departed at 935a with a bottom time of 38 minutes and a maximum depth of 22 meters. Jeanne had asked that she dive with Louise as Salvatore was too fast for her which was fine with me. Salvatore and I were teamed up with another older man named Tim from the US. We were all experienced so I knew my dive time would be a bit longer. Tim was another deep breather so he ascended faster than us during the dive.

The dive brief was bad and we headed out in the wrong direction though it ended up being a good idea as none of the other divers were in the area and the few coral heads out there were full of fish. I was getting a bit worried that we were going the wrong way as we were in the middle of a big sandy area. We finally found a large isolated coral head which was well populated with all sorts of life and quite interesting. We lingered around there for a good long time enjoying the myriad of life there before moving on. Tim ascended before us and we followed about ten minutes later.

I was having a difficult time with equalizing as my sinuses were in horrible condition. It was quite painful during the dives and I had a sinus headache the entire day. My stomach was pretty sensitive the whole day also.
