Diver's Notes

Jill 98. 14 for her, 12 for me, was good.

As usual, great dive at Molokini Backwall with ProDiver, our favorite dive company and dive site. Much friendlier boat than Lahaina Divers this trip. No masks required, so that was good too. Easy trip out to Molokini and then dropped in at Reef's End and swam over the top and around the side of the backwall. Saw a couple Blue Dragon Nudibranchs that Jill found and a Slipper Lobster that was strange looking. Hadn't seen that kind before and wasn't sure what it was. HIt some strong current which we powered through to get to a cleaning station. A grey reef shark and a white-tipped reef shark were circling around with their mouths open and getting cleaned by other fish. Divers were all good, just one annoying selfie-stick person who left his circle light on the whole time, but he was a nice guy so I'll give him a pass.

Jill was finding all the cool stuff, including a scorpionfish. Was pretty neat and blended right in. Easy to miss.

Talking to that guy's friend, a woman who said she was an ER Nurse. She said never go swimming at Big Beach. In the ER they call it Break Neck Beach because 2 people per week come in with something broken - last week there was a drowning, a broken neck, and a broken clavicle. Bad beach break and bad rip currents there. She was complaining that Trip Advisor was killing people because it was rated as top beach there. She said to go anywhere else but there.
