Diver's Notes

Jill 89. Both good with 12 pounds.

Second dive at "Turtle Town". Was a slightly different place than we normally go there. During our surface interval before we tied up we found a pod of spinner dolphins who came towards the boat and some were jumping out of the water, including some young baby dolphins.

This was a great dive. We descended and went along the reef first and then out over a large expanse of a certain type of sea grass where we were hunting for sea horses. We did not find any, but was relaxing and fun to just cruise and hunt. Found a rock that had some cool electric blue crabs and shrimp and a small lobster, and an eel. On the way back, I found an Octopus in a small hole. He did not come out, but he didn't burrow in any deeper so we were able to look at him for awhile. Then I was getting low on air so we were heading back, but then someone found a very rare Hawksbill Turtle, I looked at that and then ascended up to 20 feet so I could do my safety stop while swimming back to the boat. When I got on I only had 250 lbs of air left, but was fine. Jill did great on this dive and stayed nearer to me.

Another excellent dive. I did great with my ears and trim on both of these dives. Felt very relaxed and confident underwater after the first few minutes of the first dive.
