Diver's Notes

Dive right out front of the resort. Matt was our driver and Lois and Paul were helping on the boat and dive guiding. Matt said the resort is in its location because of this dive site.

Matt was from Edmonton so we were talking to him about hockey, and he was talking about how it didn't matter who went in to the corner first and said it was like Gretzky who sent McSorley or Messier into the corners first, but then always came out with the puck. Lois piped up and said "Matt, did I tell you I had Wayne Gretzky wallpaper when I was a kid? It wouldn't go into the corners so we had to return it". Really funny.

Got in the water and started descending and Joe got down to about 40 feet and looked like he was having problems with his ears. Then he ascended rapidly to the surface. Lois went up and checked on him (even though Matt was our guide), and he seemed ok and they sent him back to the boat and we continued.

We descended into a narrow canyon and then came out on the wall. Did this dive before and it was great again. The wall is amazing. When we rounded the corner we saw a loggerhead turtle. Shortly after that we saw a caribbean reef shark which was being followed by a couple large jacks.

Everyone was doing well on their air, so Matt extended the tour a bit and then we ran into Joe who had been able to come back down. His BC inflator had gotten stuck and inflated him all the way. Uman took Joe back through the canyon. I was in the "caution zone" on my computer so ascended and hung out and then got on the boat.

Went down to 10 pounds of weight on this dive and had no problems.
