Diver's Notes

Joe sat out today as he was still not feeling well. Dizzy and nauseous. We motored around to the north side again intending to do a site called Northern Lights. However, as we approached Matt, the captain, noticed that the engine compartment was filling with water. We slowed down and moved closer to the shore and the crew began a bucket brigade. Then we turned around and it appeared that our diving might be cancelled and there was lots of radio chatter back to the home office while Matt worked on the problem. He finally got the flooding fixed but had to shut down one engine. We then stopped to do our dive at a site called Omega Reef.

This site was great, we journeyed out to the wall and this was the best wall dive of the trip from my perspective because we were down below along the wall. The wall was beautiful. We saw a big turtle and then a really cute little turtle on our way back in. Right under the boat we saw 4 caribbean reef squid.

Mike and I and another guy were best on our air, so were last on the boat after some more exploring.
