Diver's Notes

Dropped onto the Gertrude in not add great viz as the morning dive. But was impressed at how wreckage is there that I haven't seen before. Was a little busy around the first boiler and engine block that we dropped onto so we drifted off with the current after checking out some flatworms and nudibranches.

Very soon arrived at another large section of wreck that must have been the stern. Followed back into the current along the prop shaft to another boiler. Few ballan wrasse about but not much in the way of fish life (but that might have been the poorer viz).

Drifting south with the current was pretty poor for a dive profile as there are tonnes of very large boulders.... the rebreather guys must have hated it! As before d felt a bit light when my tanks were empty so added another kilo for Sunday's dives.

Started to feel very comfy with my stage on this dive and think it's really nicely positioned now.

Back up into wonderful sunshine for a lovely afternoon involving pea fritters on the harbour wall, chilled Riesling in the garden and a intensive lesson on rebreathers :O
