Anchor bay, Malta
16th May 2013

83 min to 20.2m

Really cool to do a dive in the bay with Popeye village in it! Made for an interesting start and end to this long old dive (all 82 minutes of which flew by).

Decided to leave Nessa with the camera for this dive and there was some really great results from it.
Made our way at pretty slow pace or along the southerly wall of the bay. We were aiming to find the cave which was situated some way along. As it turned out we didn't find it until we were half way on our return.... Clearly missed it on the way out!

Reached the cave after about 60 minutes (Nessa being very cold by this point) and was a remarkably long cave but we didn't reach the end. I would love to know how far we actually went in search of the cave without finding it... well have to check Google earth.

Once back out of the cave, tried heading further north to see if we could find the anchor used for the film barge but it became apparent we would be better heading to shore to warm up a bit.

After some impressive navigation again we got back to the smashed jetty and worked our way around to the steps. Lovely evening sunshine greeted us on this very cloudy day and we packed up and made our way home.
