Inland Sea to Blue Hole

What an incredible start to the day. First people down by the Inland Sea and got kitted up before leaving the car around by the main car park (and the world’s most repetitive flute player!). Took a good few photos to get us going before descending the short depth into the murky waters of the Inland Sea. Almost straight away at the entrance to the tunnel, Nessa spotted a huge octopus in about 3m under a rock. So we spend a good few minutes in awe watching this amazing creature (took a few photos and a video).

Then on into the tunnel which had a lovely light through it. Slopes down gradually to about 25m at the entrance, getting colder as we went. At the bottom we started to make our way up to the left hand side to follow the wall around to the Azure window. Having read the book it sounded like a very long swim so in hindsight I think we took off at too fast a pace as we reached the window after only about 30 mins. But it gave us plenty of time for a mooch around here, a little swim through by the Azure window then lots of time for Nessa to marvel at the Blue Hole again. This involved a swim into the cave as before but also a death defying ascent through what seemed like a soup of jellyfish. The little wrasse and seabream seemed to take quite a fancy to munching on the weaker of the jellyfish, which gives rather a mixed emotion given how annoying the jellyfish are to swim around!
