Diver's Notes

What a different type of water, scenery and diving experience up here in the north. Feels a lot more like the UK and I know so many divers who would love this.

Heading out of a very industrial port on the rib, heading off into the prevailing north easterly winds was a little heavy going compared to the smooth seas of the south. But it felt a lot more natural to me.

As soon as we hit the water though you could see the was brilliant visibility.... Well over 15 metres and staring at some very clear volcanic sharp rock faces.

We followed our very charismatic and larger than life dive guide, José, through the wonderful caves that we were exploring. Not a huge amount of fish life (except when José smashed the invasive sea urchins up).

Very strange but cool current /swell............ Tbc

We were diving with some 300 bar 10 litre tanks which were a revelation.... Nice and long tanks so very comfy underwater plus felt I could probably drop down to 2 kgs of lead.
