Diver's Notes

Joseph and I accompanied Billy during one of his check out dives. This was good experience for me to see, again, the routine. Basic swam consisted of shore entry and swim to bus where I took pictures of fish while Billy ran through some of the checklist with his student, Daniel. I also got some video shots of the interaction in case they wanted to use it on their website. Continued down road bed to the buoyancy deck, where they did a few more skills, then back past the bus to the courts, and out.

This was the first dive with my new fins. I can put them on and take them off so much easier than the others! They feel a little loose underwater, but they stayed secured. I think it's just something I need to get used to: Billy's have more play than mine and he doesn't have an issue. So far, I really like them. I'll have to try to shake them off during the next dive, just to be sure (and make myself feel more confident with them).

I am also trying out different settings on my GoPro. After exporting some pictures from past videos, I noticed they are not very high resolution. I have been shooting in the default 1080 Superwide view. The wide view causes distortions that I want to minimize as well. Today I am shooting with 2.7K (at a frame rate of 30fps), a narrower view, and a "green water" filter borrowed from Joseph.
