Diver's Notes

Back to Shark Bay: Hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, an array of tropical fish and schools of pacific creole fish and jacks. I was getting low on air and decided to go up with Dennis and Johnny, as they were already heading out and up to their safety stop. Just when I reached them, I heard a rattle and looked out to see the group swimming in the opposite direction toward a big shadow. They had spotted a whale shark, and she was huge! Some good video was taken, and it was obvious she was carrying pups. While I was disappointed that we had missed her (well, missed being close to her), I was glad Jen got to see her up close. This was her first encounter with a whale shark, and she was so excited! Her trip was paid off at this point. As for me: maybe next time! We saw two in one day, and surely there will be more.
