Diver's Notes

Our second dive site, Nai'a, was near the harbour channel and offered encounters with Hawaiian spinner dolphins, which were heard in abundance and often seen swimming by. (On the surface, there were large pods jumping and spinning in the channel nearby.) Nai'a means "dolphin" in Hawaiian, so the name is fitting. We had hoped to see a tiger shark, which are common at this dive site, but did not have any luck until we were back on the boat as one entered the harbour alongside us! The water was warm and clear, if not abundant with marine life. The dolphins definitely stole the show.
