Diver's Notes

Our last dive in the northern, outer islands before heading back was at Shark Bay. My GoPro cut out shortly into the dive, during the filming of a green sea turtle. The usual suspects were present, including a large school of hammerheads; perhaps the same one we saw from landslide a few hundred yards away. Our average depth on this one was around 40 feet, and that was good for an hour-long dive. I was hovering out above most of the others and came across two hammerhead sharks circling around a small school of fish, occasionally darting through their center. Feeding time! The dive was uneventful but good. We wrapped up and headed back to the boat, and by early afternoon started our long crossing to Isla Santiago where we would wrap up our diving at cousin rock. Everyone was looking forward to our land excursion with the Galapagos Tortioses, but no one was looking forward to the 14-hour crossing. Glad I brought a book!
