Diver's Notes

Our fourth and last dive of the day began with partly cloudy skies and water remaining warmer than expected. I am still comfortable in my board shorts and rash guard, though my knees and shins have a few scratches from the encounters with barnacles and rocks over the last couple of days. Again we settled down on the ledge and were accompanied by the usual fish. I think Jen's mexican hogfish from earlier returned, this time with a larger companion in its terminal phase. They swam around Dennis this time, but not for long as we didn't stay. William turned us toward the blue, probably in search of something more interesting. A few galapagos sharks were spotted below us, as well as hammerheads. We ran across another school of jacks and a lone green sea turtle. But nothing more, and again William seemed a bit put out when we surfaced--asking to no one in particular "where are they?"--this time further away from the arch, but still on the opposite side of Darwin Island. The skies were much cloudier now and the seas were rolling a bit more.
