Diver's Notes

After a quick lunch at Umeke's with mom, Jenand I returned for the manta night dive. We began with a late-afternoon dive at the Garden Eel Cove, which at night changes its name to Manta Heaven. Carl would be our dive guide on the next two dives.

Upon entry, the rocky seabed immediately gave way to a large, sandy plane, where hundreds of garden eels poked their heads and a foot or so of their bodies out of their dens. The eels danced back-and-forth in the slow surge. After watching at the edge of the plane for a few minutes, we continued on to explore the reef area of the site, seeing several of the aforementioned species of fish and other marine life.
