Chrysiptera rollandi (Whitley, 1961) (Rolland's demoiselle) Occurs singly or in small groups in lagoons, harbors, and outer reef slopes. Found among corals and coral rubble . Feeds mainly on zooplankton.
Dascyllus reticulatus (Richardson, 1846) (twostriped damselfish) Occurs in outer lagoon and seaward reefs. Inhabits branching coral heads, particularly Pocillopora eydouxi. Forms schools, often in silty habitats . Male prepares a nest by cleaning with its mouth a rock or coral surface where the female will attach the eggs .
Dascyllus melanurus Bleeker, 1854 (blacktailed humbug) Schooling species, inhabits sheltered lagoons, harbors and inlets. Also in somewhat open substrates with outcrops of Acropora corals . Often associated with small coral heads. Feeds on a variety of plankton, including l...

Pomacentrus simsiang Bleeker, 1856 (Blueback damsel) Occurs singly or in small aggregations at slightly turbid areas of lagoon and coastal reefs. Feeds mainly on benthic algae.
Dischistodus prosopotaenia (Bleeker, 1852) (Honey-head damsel) Inhabits lagoons and coastal reefs, usually in silty areas . The true D. prosopotaenia ranges from Singapore to Sulawesi while the yellow-breasted variant ranges from Irian Jaya to eastern Australia and Vanuatu .
Chrysiptera unimaculata (Cuvier, 1830) (Onespot demoiselle) Found solitarily or in small groups among coastal algal reefs, rubble or over open beach-rock of reef flats exposed to moderate surge and feeds mainly on benthic algae .
Hemiglyphidodon plagiometopon (Bleeker, 1852) (Purple-spotted demoiselle) Occurs in protected lagoon and coastal reefs around branching corals , usually with lots of algae on coral bases on the substrate . Feeds on algae . Large species, to at least 18 cm .
Amblyglyphidodon aureus (Cuvier, 1830) (Golden damsel) Occurs in steep outer reef, occasionally in deep lagoons and along channel walls, usually in current prone habitats and where there are abundant gorgonian and long sea-whip corals on which they lay and guard eggs. Juvenil...

Dischistodus melanotus (Bleeker, 1858) (Black-vent damsel) Occurs in lagoon reefs and generally prefers small patch reefs with sand or rubble substrates . Feeds on benthic algae which it aggressively guards against other herbivores . Juveniles secretive in rubble .
Pomacentrus philippinus Evermann and Seale, 1907 (Philippine damsel) Occurs in lagoons, steep-sided channels, and seaward reefs from 2 to over 12 m . Usually found in groups off the sides of vertical drop-offs and overhanging ledges .
Pomacentrus coelestis Jordan and Starks, 1901 (Neon damsel)
Chromis amboinensis (Bleeker, 1871) (Ambon chromis) Inhabits coral-rich areas of clear lagoon and seaward reefs. Abundant on steep outer reef slopes below 24 m, uncommon in lagoons. Juveniles in large branching corals, adults mainly in caves . Found in aggregations .
Chaetodon triangulum Cuvier, 1831 (Triangle butterflyfish) Inhabit lagoon and seaward reefs . Closely associated with Acropora corals, particularly the staghorn variety. Territorial and in pairs . Juveniles solitary among coral branches . Feed mainly on coral polyps and theref...
